A great post on Old-School gaming at GROGNARDIA

Hey, check out this terrific post on the virtues of old-school gaming by GROGNARDIA's James Maliszewski.  James and I entered the hobby at around the same time (late 1970s/early 1980s) and in most areas I find he speaks very clearly about the vibe of the hobby in those days, echoing my feelings and thoughts on such matters.

A quote from that post:

"OD&D shows us that game design is something that happens at the game table more than at the game company that produced the original rulebook. These games inculcate a do-it-yourself ethos that led to an explosion of different "D&Ds," each one a reflection of the people who played it."

This is a good thing.
